Niklas Grunewald

Fund Managing Partner

What brought you to Redstone and when did you start?

Having been in venture capital for 10+ years, I helped start Redstone back in 2014. After investing the first vintage, I stepped out to build my own venture, worked for Deutsche Bank heading venture capital and innovation in Europe, and lately re-joined to build and invest our Built World Fund.

What are your main responsibilities in the team?

I am heading the Built World Fund as Managing Partner.

What innovation will change the future in a positive way?

CO2-free concrete. Cement, as the main component of concrete, accounts for 8% of global CO2 emissions. Platforms, B2B marketplaces, productivity tools, vertical SaaS - all within their right to exist. But the single largest lever to fight climate change lies within the material science space and the team cracking the scientific and commercial code on CO2-free concrete will change the world for the better.

How do you relax/clear your mind?

Meditation, forest walks, and occasional beers with the boys.

Whats your favorite lifehack to share?

Once you realize control is an illusion, things get easier. You can do what you decide to do - but you cannot decide what you will decide to do. Try it out…yep.
