Redstone is a Venture Capital outsourcing partner for corporates, enabling investments in innovative digital and technology businesses.

Partners

Samuli is an entrepreneur who has founded several companies including Redstone. Post-university he started a company syndicating financial data for internet portals and banks. He then founded M&A Boutique Finfortec where he spent several years gaining experience in later stage and buy-out deals. Before becoming the Managing Director at Redstone he worked for the Klingel Group building their in-house corporate Venture Capital arm which he ran for three years. He moved to Berlin over twenty years ago from Finland and is a passionate diver and golfer.

Samuli Sirén

Managing Director

Michael is co-founder and Partner of Redstone, a serial tech entrepreneur and founder of Rebate Networks. Prior to this he was Executive Director of studiVZ, at the time Germany’s largest social network. Before starting in the technology sector he began his career at Merrill Lynch in the M&A division. He obtained his Business degree from WHU (Germany) and EGADE (Mexico) and also studied at CEIBS (China) where he learned Mandarin. Alongside being a Partner at Redstone Michael is an active angel investor.

Michael Brehm

Partner

Thomas is a Partner at Redstone. He is also the Managing Director of Rebate Networks, a German venture investor. Over the last years he has been involved in building up several e-commerce companies in South East Asia and Eastern Europe. Thomas started his internet career in 2000 as Co-Founder of yousmile.de AG and Mentasys GmbH, which became one of Germany’s leading online price comparison service provider and which has subsequently been sold to a subsidiary of Bertelsmann AG. Prior to Rebate Networks he was Managing Director and CFO of studiVZ, Europe’s largest social network at that time. Thomas is currently also involved in several startups in Europe, the US and Asia as business angel and advisor. He likes running marathons.

Thomas Baum

Marcus Schroeder is Venture Partner at Redstone. He has 20 years of M&A, capital markets and industrial expertise and has held leading positions in multinational corporates and banks, including at Merrill Lynch, Société Générale, Citi, Santander, and ThyssenKrupp. He has strong sector expertise, in particular in the global automotive and industrial sectors. Outside of the office, Marcus enjoys playing golf and practicing yoga, and is a certified yoga instructor.

Marcus Schroeder

Venture Partner

Lukas André is Venture Partner at Redstone, and is responsible for managing Redstones activities in Switzerland. Before joining the team, Lukas was a Managing Partner at Affentranger Associates, an investment and M&A advisory company focused on the technology sector. Lukas has been a founder multiple times himself and therefore adds deep entrepreneurial experience to his investment and M&A deal track record. He holds a Master in Business Administration from the University of Bern, where he was honored as the top-finish candidate of his year.

Gaurav is Venture Partner at Redstone. He has gained a decade of experience on the startup, investor and corporate side. Previously, he built and led the investment and corporate sales teams of hub:raum and developed the digital portfolio strategy of Deutsche Telekom. He successfully internationalized an Index Ventures funded startup and gained entrepreneurial experience both as founder and later as CEO of a software venture. Gaurav holds a Management & Engineering MS from Stanford and a Computer Science BS from the Hasso-Plattner-Institut and Oxford. He loves good music, great design, and Borussia Dortmund.

Investment Team

Julius is investing in software companies in financial services, real estate and industrials at Redstone, working with clients in the respective industries. Prior to joining Redstone, he was an Associate for angel syndicate flight.vc on US deals and later helped to set up the UK investment operations. He has worked at German online insurance broker start-up Finanzchef24 in operations and business development, and co-founded the Startup Weekend Switzerland during his studies in St. Gallen, Singapore and London. When not in the office, he can be found playing the guitar and composing. Julius has been named one of the top 30 finance professionals under 30 by Forbes Magazine in 2017.

Julius Bachmann

Franciska is an Investment Analyst at Redstone. Prior to joining the team, Franciska spent two years in New York City working in venture capital at FirstMark Capital and later at Resonance Companies. Before that, she spent a year in Dubai co-founding a services startup, and was an early employee at Nova Founders Capital in Kuala Lumpur. She started her career at a boutique consultancy in Copenhagen and holds a MSc in Innovation Management from Copenhagen Business School. Franciska is an avid traveler and explorer, former badminton pro and an overall active viking.

Franciska Dethlefsen

Niklas is an Investment Analyst at Redstone. After researching on traction-based prediction of skyrocketing unicorns at Zeppelin University, he discovered his ambition for early stage investments while leading the post-merger controlling of a mobile payment startup at Heilemann Ventures. Niklas also worked for DAX companies supporting the board level in developing innovation strategies and executing change, and knows how to code a webshop. Drop him a line if you know a proper fishing spot in Berlin or want to go on a motorcycle tour.

Niklas Dietz

Bastian is an Investment Manager at Redstone. He holds university degrees in mechanical engineering and business from the Technical University of Munich and ESCP Europe. During his studies he gained international experience in New York, London, Paris and Munich as well as worked for Rocket Internet in Indonesia’s biggest eCommerce company. Before joining Redstone as one of the first employees Bastian has been working for a student consultancy in Germany and South Africa, as a management consultant at PwC and the co-founder of a social media company. He is an ambitious marathon runner and biker crossing the Alps already several times.

Bastian Faulhaber

Stefano is working at Redstone as an Investment and Technical Analyst. He holds a PhD in financial computing from University College London, and degrees in economics and security. He has worked as a data scientist at Arabesque, a sustainable finance startup, and spent time with Silicon Valley companies as an Insight Fellow. Stefano consulted the Italian Government and the European Commission on matters related to data, finance and security. He co-founded Italy’s first data journalism platform, Quattrogatti.info, and led initiatives introducing impact investing practices in the Italian market. He is a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum, a passionate cook and martial arts practitioner.

Stefano Gurciullo, PhD

Lucas is an Investment Analyst at Redstone. Prior to joining Redstone, he gained experience in strategy consulting for Deloitte and Capgemini Consulting as well as business development for a Sydney-based media start-up. Lucas holds a Bachelor’s degree from Maastricht University and a CEMS Master’s degree. Overall, he has worked and studied in the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Australia and Germany. Lucas is a former semi-professional triathlete, sports enthusiast, Hertha BSC supporter and true Berliner.

Lucas Paul

Praneeth is an Investment and Technical Analyst at Redstone. Prior to joining the team, Praneeth had worked as an engineer at Oracle and Microsoft. He is currently pursuing his MBA from the ESADE Law and Business school in Barcelona and holds a bachelors in computer science from IIT Bombay. He is heading tech for a fintech venture as part of the EWorks accelerator. He is a jazz and manga enthusiast, and a badminton player.

Praneeth Srikanti

Anastasia is an Investment Analyst at Redstone. She holds a bachelor’s degree from the London School of Economics, and a business degree from ESCP Europe. Prior to joining Redstone, she was working in a media production company, supporting the financing of major motion pictures. Anastasia has worked and studied in New York, London, Paris, and Brussels, amongst others, and speaks five languages. In her free time, she is a passionate surfer and classical dancer.

Anastasia Wolter

Business Development

Lea is working at Redstone as a Business Development Manager. She holds a Bachelor of the Arts in Public Relations and Events Management from London University of the Arts. At the age of 20 Lea has founded the first Pop-Up Store in Germany and after finishing University she started her career with a traineeship program at Axel Springer in Berlin. Lea has then founded her own consultancy (LEAdingVoice) consulting and connecting startups, investors, digital native brands and VC firms around the globe. Previously to Redstone, she was consulting NOAH Advisors as Director Business Development where she was also the presenter of the NOAH Conference Startup stage in London and Berlin. Lea speaks five languages, is a Global Shaper of the World Economic Forum and a passionate traveller.

Lea Vajnorsky

Maximilian is responsible for all Marketing and PR activities at Redstone. Before joining Redstone, he worked at an Heidelberg-based startup in sales and operations. Max is vividly involved in the European tech and startup online scene and publishes articles on his own blog. He is about to finish his Bachelor degree in Economics, and also studied at the London School of Economics, from where he holds a certificate in Entrepreneurship and Management. Max annually tries to find a few days to explore the French Alps by mountain bike in summer and ski in winter.

Maximilian Friedrich

Business Intelligence and Data Science

Axel is responsible for business intelligence at Redstone. At the beginning of his career he spent several years in the Pharmaceutical and Automotive industries. He then joined KPMG where he successfully became a Partner. As the Chief Knowledge Officer EMEA-region at KPMG he was responsible for a change management project to improve knowledge management processes. Before joining Redstone Axel was active in interim management positions in high growth tech companies. He took on several responsibilities including deploying new financial software within a leading German Cable TV Company. He studied Industrial Engineering at TU Berlin and is a passionate cook and foodie.

Axel Wünsch

Anastasia is a Data Scientist at Redstone. Prior to joining the team, she worked at a tech HR startup MoBerries in business development. Anastasia is an Economics student at the New Economic School in Moscow, she also spent two semesters at the Pompeu Fabra University in Barcelona and Frankfurt School of Finance & Management. During her studies, she helped to develop AIESEC’s global community by being a volunteer at the non-profitable organization in Fortaleza, and she participated in the organization of the Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro as a sports information team member. In her free time, she is a passionate traveller and marathon runner.

Anastasia Gonotskaya

Jan is a data scientist at Redstone. He has a background in Econometrics and Machine Learning from the University of Amsterdam: Previously to joining Redstone, he gained experience from Tech HR startup MoBerries, where he worked in data analytics and business development. He is a passionate triathlete and long distance runner.
